I am just trying to keep up with the great things that you are doing. I do not have any of these skills, and do not even understand some of your accomplishments, but am very interested in your project!

Darn solenoid
Great job Planejob. i love the sound of an unleashed kubota!
On my conversion i removed the solenoid, made a cover plate and hooked a bicycle brake cable to the kill lever. No need to waste perfectly good electricity to keep it running.

Great job! The sound alone will shoo the rattle snakes away from your castle!

The fuel cut off cable would work fine on a car...but when it took 2 hands to kill the diesel on the boat (15 feet of corroded cable) I conjured up the Cummins/Dodge solenoid and even my pet monkey can shut it off now.

Stop teasing me and start a build thread for that Kombi (no matter what bodystyle, all the rear-engined Transporters are called "Kombi" in my country). I'm curious to see what you'll do about the radiator.

Congrats on the successful fire-up, planejob!
I'll be adding this project to the front page shortly.
Question: your images appear to be all hosted off-site. Some are already generating some "can't find it" errors. Do you mind if I copy and embed them as attachments to this thread? Maybe not all.
Experience tells us that this thread will be around for a long time after the 3rd party image hosting site will make them available, and I don't want to lose them.

You are more than welcome to copy the pictures - in fact if you tell me how to do it properly I will upload them all to the a safe place.
I was using photobucket, and I switched to google photos about 1/2 way in.
Update:
1" copper tubing from Home Depot is expensive... yet it makes very nice radiator fittings for turning the hoses to a satisfactory direction. Pictures coming Sunday.

Check this thread:

The only potential limitation is if your camera settings are producing really big images that are larger than the forum attachment size limit.
