So i decided against the top pivot and that leaves me with several alternatives.

1. top hinged to fender

2. top hinged up to hood

3 top hinge to fender, split skirt with hinge between top and bottom halves. Bottom half hangs parallel to vehicle as it moves out/up.

4. Parallel arms that move the skirt out/up.

5 Lazy tongs extend the skirt out

6 skirt split into front and back half, extend independently with lazy tongs.

Have you actually measured it on yer Tundra? How often do you need a full lock turn? Give it some thought...

I just measured my T-100 at full lock turn and the tire only sticks out about 4" from top of the fender. Obviously it would stick out further from the bottom of the fender since most vehicles taper in towards the bottom. Something to consider...I stole the idea from NASCAR trucks since their sides are straight down.

How far out does yer fender flares stick out now?

Since you are basically doing a proof of concept...wouldn't it be easier if you slap something on the side of the fender to build it out, enclose the wheel opening with some cardboard, and then test/collect data? If it works out, you can move on to the next step...and go as complex as yer heart desires.

My tires stick out about maybe 7 inches at mid height when turned. Idk its hard to measure. Lot less than i have been imagining but it the angle might be too steep enclosed .

My truck didnt have fender flares on the front tires when i bought it. The tires stick out part of an inch from the well when straight so id need to go out the windth of flares to get a flat sheet over the tire minimum.

the nash rambler should have gone lower around the front tire. That of course would require removing the lower part to get access to the tire..

The Li-ion Wave II has wide, fixed front wheel skirts.

So did the Schlörwagen:

What is the max angle i can use without the air separating? What is the minium angle to leave room for the majority of highway driving?

I think the steering angle for highway speeds are very minimal -- a degree is a lot, I think?

what about spinners with a strechable heavy weather resistant cloth attached to the edge of the wheel well, then attached to the spinner. can a spinner spin at 60 mph?
