odometer say 161000km on my Jetta, so i guess it equate to 100 000 miles ?
I'd like to keep it -as my primary vehicle- until it reach 600 000km, but I wonder if this is doable.
Ah, that made me think. I think it could be a good to modify the car each 100 000km; and by that I mean, complete respray of a new color, new wheels, bodykits, headlight, whatever, this way I should not get bored by its look too fast.
I'll start saving today, i've only got 49 000 km' worth of time left

Correction: just picked up four used tires on Craigslist for $40, so the Accord will be back on the road soon, and with two spares in the basement.

196 000. That's actually less than ten thousand miles per year so I guess my car has had a pretty easy life so far. Then again I have no idea how many previous owners it has, and the guy I bought it from was a real redneck. He said, and I quote: "I bought it last year for a thousand bucks, drove the **** out of it, and now I'm selling it for 900!"

Well I met her on the internet. haha
Back on topic, I'm curious why there are two lumps in the results here. The 50-100k and 150-200k groups are really pulling ahead. We've got a small sample size and it's obviously no representation of the average driver, but it seems to say something... though I have no idea what. Is there a big group of us who drive older cars to save money (ecomodding for economics) and then another big group who drive newer cars on longer commutes and feel guilty (ecomodding for the environment)? This is wild speculation; I want to hear more plausible theories.

Well I was also thinking about it a little, like why is 50k-100k and 150k-200k so high while 100k-150 is not, being in the middle you think that it would be up near them too...
It only makes since for the graph to look like this: where the 0-50k stars in the middle then it gets bigger then drops somewhat dramitically at some point since most cars dont last past say 300k... Well the graph MOSTLY does look like that except the 100k-150k
and actually if you wanted to go with that trend (represented as the red line) then the 100-150k should be just slightly higher than the other beside it (maybe a 24 or 25 vote) and it would be the peak

I had to look up "Rayleigh curve" myself. Anyways, maybe the interesting results are because ecomodders with these average-age cars that should be filling out the curve just don't care enough to reply to the poll. Some are proud they rock a new car, some are proud their car has driven to the moon and back, but nobody ever boasts about how their car has 110 000 miles on it. Right?

Actually, there should be another car in the 100-150k, and yet another in the 150-200k, since I didn't realize I could choose more than one option.
