I'm about 1200 miles south of you, in central Florida.
Now that I think about it, I've still got a Festiva sitting in my driveway (my son's), but Black Widow is long gone. I'm thinking of buy my kid's Festiva and using it to pull my lawn service trailer.
You should add your Festiva to Team Festiva in the challenge! Team Festiva was up to the #6 position at one point when I had Black Widow registered.

I also get worse mph when going slow, regardless of lean burn.
At 100 mph I get no less than 100 mph. At 50 mph I get just 50 mph. I usually do about 55 mph (@55 mph) on the highway though.
As I like to be in my car I don't mind too much, and it is good for economy
On a serious note, it takes a long time to get good at judging fuel consumption by speed.
A strong side wind and a wet road increase fuel consumption more than a 10 mph speed increase.
But generally anything above 50 mph decreases fuel efficiency, as air resistance is then the largest force and it quadruples with speed.
I get best economy at 35 mph. I usually go faster than that for practical reasons.

To enter your car in the team competition just click the link below and add your car. The link is straight to Team Festiva
EcoModder Team Competition
Then start tracking your mpg in the garage by using the fuel log. You just add the miles you drove on the tank and the gallons it took to fill up and it logs it onto a graph so you can see how you're progressing. It will automatically update it in the team competition. This gives you a little motivation to keep doing better each tank
Yeah, I have threads for both of my former Insights and my current Volt on here. I try to document the good, the bad and the ugly so people with the same car or somebody interested in that model can benefit by hearing about someone else's experiences with it

Well! Just ran my first tank through my Civic. It's gloriously stock and I wasn't really pushing the hypermiling either, and got 43.7. This should be a good sign...

There's some asterisks in there...I'd had my wallet stolen so I had a couple of partial fills at different stations, so there's some pump error in the mix. But that's over 743 miles. Pretty much all highway, as my commute is 100 miles all freeway, prk for three weeks while I'm out in the big rig, then drive the 100 miles back home.
Thinking about seeking some alternate routes as this car seems to perform especially well at middle speeds.
