Was there anything inside? I would guess anything of value has been stolen long long ago, and anything metal would have gone for scrap.
It is crazy how talented some people are with a can of spray paint, infact in the photo they all look bright and fairly fresh. The buildings I have seen in the past were always faded and old.

There was nothing of value in that building. I walked down and took a look inside the pitch black basement... scared the bajeezis out of me! Might have to go back with a bigger flashlight and more people next time. To, you know, guard against ghostly white, deformed mole people who live down there, feeding on rat flesh.
A lot of the joy comes from the dilapidation of structures, and the crap you find left in them.

Didn't expect to see that O.o, from the outside the building looked fair, inside it is trashed. I see a bit of steel rerod, but the effort to remove it would outweigh the payout lol.
Get one of them 10 million candle power spot lights and get some basement photos?
On topic: Have you listed a craigslist listing for coroplast? I saw a couple posts up you was needing some. I had a person contact me about my listing and claimd to have a truck load, then down sized to 20 sheets, then no reply :-/. I wanted a photo before driving 40 miles one way... to pay (like $20 for a truck load as he claimed)

Different building, mind you. I didn't take any pics inside the grocery store. Maybe I'll do the basement later. There are also a couple more buildings over there I'd like to check out.
I don't really have the time to go searching for coroplast. I'll make do for another month until I graduate and go home, where there are still signs hiding in the barn. Much rather spend an afternoon installing the new alternator, urbexing or cycling.

Acres and acres and acres. I could spend a week in those few blocks.

There's less than a million people in Detroit now. The Michigan legislature passed an "emergency" exception to their city sales tax law to allow Detroit to keep its own tax because only cities with at least a million people can have their own sales tax in Michigan.
So yeah, lots of empty real estate in Detroit these days.

It's crazy how many "dead zones" there are in the country. Especially with how the economy's been for the past few years.
I'm new here, just wanted to say I like that probe. My friend has an 89 probe in that red yours used to be with a terrible paint job. Perhaps this will inspire him to improve on it. Keep up the good work!

Great shot on this one. The composition and lighting are top notch.

Despite recent claims from purported Packard Plant owner Dominic Cristini that he would tear down the massive abandoned factory in Detroit, it's still standing and seemingly untouched by demo crews.
