project Del Slow

I have own this car for almost a year and only recently have I tried to get good millage I started with a steady 34mpg then to 38mpg with wiper delete and grill block off. Recently swapped to a Vx transmission and can get 40mpg easily and my record is 44.6mpg windows down

Mods:
4-2-1 header
HAI
Magna flow exhaust
Carbon fiber Hood
Grill block off
195/50/15 tires 40psi
2.5" drop on Tanabe coilovers

I have a set of 14" wheels I want to put on but money for tires is needed first

Your car is very sharp looking and I like the Carbon hood.
I wonder if you could get a key lock mechanism that sits flush with the hood ? instead of the pins.

Nice car. I've always loved the look of the Del Sol. And the aft portions, over the trunk, seem ideal for a kammback. These 15" wheels are probably helping your FE by keeping highway RPMs down. The VX transmission was designed with 13" wheels in mind. I think this means your odo is undercounting your actual miles, thus making your MPGs seem lower than they actually are. Also, plug up those fog lamp holes if you will not be using them.

Thanks guys never even put into account that my speedometer is 5 under actual speed and the fog light holes are the only cooling my car has. I have been looking into a fiber glass kamback or a wire frame plastic cover one but need money first and going to a skinny tire first and then do more mods

But that's not the VX engine. That's a Sixth gen DX engine, and it is not a V-TECe engine, like the VX. Did the Del Sol come with the D16Y7 or have you swapped? Do you mean the D16Y5? That's the HX V-TECe.

Its probably been swapped.. These engines are good candidates for a "mini me".. They're basically a D16Y8 without the VTEC head..
