Saw a Prius after a head-on collision

Near Bakersfield CA on a 2-lane hwy.
3450 lb Honda Accord vs 3000 lb Toyota Prius.
The Accord was passing a truck and hit the Prius head -on.
Everyone in the Honda was killed.

In the Prius, the inertia of the battery pack seemed to propel the back of the car into the front section. The windshield was vertical. There was almost no room for the driver and passenger left. They were also killed.

The photo below is of another Prius head-on accident where the driver was also killed. The roof was cut off to get to the driver.

Really not sure of your angle here, I don't own a prius or a smart, but no car is invincible, not even the smart. I don't want to go down the whole safety comparison, folks get all wound up about it as it is, and I think lightweight is a virtue indeed.

But no crumple zones in a smart and you bounce off of other cars, and subject the passengers to greater decelerations.

The good stuff starts about 0:55

No matter how safe your car is, if you run crash tests fast enough, the results all start to look the same: Everybody dies.

Hypermilers to the rescue! Just drive slower! Everyone knows it's safer, but few will actually do it.

lol thats exactly what I was thinking. It made me look up the weight of the Prius battery pack. Its just a little bit over 100 lbs. Its not pushing anything anywhere.

Not sure what your angle is here. Spreading fear?
