Quite surprising to find out the GT-R has better aerodynamics than the LEAF.

JACG did a deep dive on rumble seats.

Note the kiddie seat on the running board with it's own footrest. Mother-in-law seating!

I never knew yellow was so popular in the 1920s. Last gasp (needs a roll-down back window):

Those seats on the running boards would be quite dangerous when the driver brakes hard. Unless some restraint could be fitted...

Do you think that driver even could "brake hard?" At the time, being thrown clear of an accident was the preferred outcome.
If you look at pictures of contemporary harvests, you'll see a steam-operated threshing machine surrounded by horse-drawn carts and men. If you look closer, you'll usually see a guy, often with bandages or a cast, just standing on top of the thresher. He was the "safety man," shouting warnings to all the others about the exposed machinery.

Who knows... Well, most likely neither were the speed limits so high at that time, or the cars so fast at all. Some bumpy roads or streets paved with cobblestone (still quite common where I live) would also be quite a PITA anyway...
