That shape, the hyperbolic parabaloid, is not selected for aero reasons, but for structural elegance. The whole roof is in tension, so it can be as thin as a tent.

In the time frame in discussion, Felix Candela and P. L. Nervi were using the shape, but I think Antoni Gaudi was decades earlier.

One of my favorites, the Sagrada Familia orphanage roof is classified as 'other'.
