This can go in several threads, but to be safe I'm putting it here.

Random TRANSPORTATION pictures - Page 2250 - Pelican Parts Forums

It's gotta be a mess underneath, and those curved rear edges should cause some uneven air flow release and buffeting.

It looks good in a front 3/4 view and I'm betting side profile view.

In any case, this design is sure to cause a little controversy.

Those split rim wheels are dangerous.

Looks aerodynamic to me, but a rear 3/4 view would tell us more.

My suspicion is that it's symmetrical, like a Weinermobile.

On the VW bug, at least there is no argument that the boundary layer is turbulent.

But it's going to be an attached turbulence since the balls act as reverse dimples. Each individual bump will pull air to 115° to the direction of air flow. The front and rear facing ones will have no appreciable effect.

You did notice that the balls had either wihiffle ball perforations or, possibly, dimples?

Isn't the 115 degree deflection only true in a narrow speed range? Not sure how to determine the Reynolds number here, or if it's even relevant.

Looking again, you might be right.

Speed range ~25-250mph. That 115° thing may only apply to free-standing spheres.
