Okay, helps to be specific.

I googled the title, it was one of the MB blog posts.

I updated the original post too.

They obtain 3.4% accuracy compared to 2.2% in physical wind tunnels, per Hucho.

This is machine learning, from a data set of 800 shapes they precompute the CD and then compare to a control of 80 done the hard way.

This [potentially] fulfills my dream of finding the shape that's halfway between the Volhart-Saggitta V2 and a new Corvette.

0.74 on the start! And 0.658 feels like a stunning improvement. What did they say they gained in that alone? 248 hp lost to drag. Really cool experiment.

That's very similar to the Darko wind tunnel in Ogden, UT, that aerohead and gumby79 put their trucks in. It has 450hp. I don't have time for the whole 40 minutes, is it 700hp with or without the front fans?

I'd gone back in and added the Darko 450hp. Would have guessed it had 700hp or more. They both operate at an airspeed of 85mph.

I like the color scheme better on the East Coast A2 . The gray is better for seeing the smoke . The 2nd sister (same blue prints, the only difference between is the altitude ) A2 Ogden . Is almost a perfect color match to the smoke so it doesn't show up very well especially when you get back behind the vehicle to see what the wake is doing. Even the human eye has trouble distinguishing between the smoke and the background. If the eye can't see it then there's not much chance for the camera to be capable of catching it.

The boy does blabber quite a bit. Luckily Youtube has settings so that you can watch it at 2x the speed.
