Gas is $4.19 on the IL side of the river. I guess I could use another excuse to see my fiance on the MO side where it's probably 20 cents cheaper. But that means having to DRIVE there, on a deprived graduate student budget...decisions decisions...
This is the perfect time to wear our Ecomodder tshirts! I figure between the cool shirt and the duct taped grille, I'm bound to strike up a conversation with curious folks.

Speaking of ecomodder t-shirts, are they still available? I need an XL.

When the first of these battles ran (climate change) I suggested letting the venom run free - after all we are on the internet. Metro disagreed.
And its his site - so its like going into a house where they insist you take your shoes off - obey the house rules or don't go in.

Egg-zactly. The sad truth of it all is that mutual respect is not a working assumption on the interweb, hence the forum rules. You can have some great debates, but it seems like Bacon or der führer is only six posts of separation from the original thread.
While I can see that you enjoy a good row and are able to apply the mutual respect thing, letting the venom run free can also poison the forum.

Agreed.
Back to prices, the garage I pass every morning eased its prices by .3p a litre this morning. Still a queue getting ready for the weekend at the local supermarket though.

£1.41 a litre yesterday filling Mrs A's Octavia.
Helga is on 400+ miles with 330 on the estimated range.
This is the car that couldn't do more than 420 miles before EM.

So I crack open a window and park myself at the computer. I notice (had to; no choice ) that it sounds like a Dukes Of Hazzard episode outside. So I step out to see what all the commotion is and it looks like a Benny Hill skit out there- you know the ones where someone is getting chased at double speed? Ahhh... I bet I know what happened. As I navigated the traffic obstacle course on my bicycle to the grocery store I saw that gas had dropped to $3.84. Nuts! My hunch was right- gas went down. And we were so close to $4 I could almost taste it!
The reset button for the national psyche has been pushed. Evidently, now, this price drop means gas is "cheap" and everybody is out to burn it off like it's going out of style... and perhaps it is.

I don't know, Frank. I got a feeling that most people have gotten a grip on this being a hustle and except a few excitable folks, most are going to keep cutting back on their fuel useage. Besides, the dollar is gaining strength, dropping the price down more.
