I'm getting 50-55 with my metro 'vert and "spirited" driving, really got to cut back on the accel but its so much fun. A friend with a hybrid civic said its not possible to get that kind of mpg without hybrid. I told him XFi metros come stock able to get 50+ mpg's. People don't know how to drive :P He said its because it's only got 3 cyls and it should have 4 and if it did then it wouldn't get better mileage than his... There was no arguing him on this point even though it doesn't make any sense lol

Please tell me everything you did to get such good mpg. I just bought a metro and it's only getting about 35. I am inspired by your success.

LOL, holy thread revival! Funny how all the Geo Metro owners converged on this thread.

ListerLnx, first thing to do is get your Geo in good mechanical shape, and then change your driving habits. In my last Geo I could get 33 MPG or 49 MPG. Driving a Geo hard will net you low 30's, driving it gently will net you high 40's-50's. My Geo has cheap wider than stock tires and only a partial front grill block and I am now averaging 50 MPG. Driving style is the main key to getting good MPG, well, that and good mechanical condition.
