over thinking

It would be tough to get exact data, but based on what you observed, a trend/ correlation would probably appear based on "tilt" (camber?) of the vehicle. Then you could even play with it angled front to back to see if there is some difference.

Or maybe I'm over thinking it.

Also, I'm impressed to see a guy from Texas that understands freeze-thaw It seems most people here in Canada don't get the idea! But they are always the ones who notice the same potholes every year...
I feel like I didn't think it enough! Crazy! I'll start 'checking' from here on out.

Darin,absolutely!
I'm behind in all matters since before the trip, but am convinced that 'tank' mpg is for the birds now that all the gee-whiz gizmos have availed themselves, and do,very much want to be dragged into the 21st Century.

I've done this for years but never realized that if the vehicle wasn't dead-level,that there was a risk that I wasn't actually filling it completely.
In 4,300 miles of testing it will tend to nullify the discrepancy, but if it can be avoided,I'll pursue that direction.
If I'm going to share numbers,I'd like all the accuracy I can stand.

I always use the exact same pump, but I haven't had my CRX more than 200 miles from home either.
