Awesome, thanks TheDon! So its totally missing the front end? Big items I've been looking for is a spare tranny and maybe another battery pack.

As for the Insight on CL, can't hurt to check it out.

I just bought an Insight (a couple of weeks ago), but I'm still waiting for the shipping company to deliver it. Once it gets here, if you need any pictures of working vehicle specifics, let me know and I'll take them for you.

Red - Doing a grille block on the Insight probably won't be a problem unless you're in a very warm climate. I live in Atlanta and I 'grille blocked' my 1.3L engine Aspire without any major increases in operating temperature. Considering that the Insight has a 1.0L, and how small the grille opening is, I think you'll be fine.

Either way, please keep us posted. Your rebuild is very interesting...

Congrats on the buy cbergeron!

Its sorta warm. Not AZ warm but warm. Going to be moving down to LA since I'm finally done with my JC and I got accepted into UCLA, so I doubt it going to be seeing anything cooler than 70F or so.

I needs to find the number for the yard and will call asap. I want to say they will remove the battery pack, if they know where it is and if they are smart enough to.

Blah on the pack. Whats the year and mileage on it? If its 100k or less I'd take the whole drivetrain if its a stick. Else the only major biggie I'm looking for right now would be a drivers side door skin if its intact

I went and checked it out today... It's been crushed, already... It had horrible front end damage so pulling anything drive train would have been fun.

with scrap metal prices soaring every day junk yards are turning over cars even faster than before.. It's really sad, all the good cars I pick from get turned into shreded scrap and sent to china to help the commies out.
