The only way to get rid of mice is to seal up any entrance point. I bought a dozen cans of expanding foam, some steel wool, and flashing and blocked them out in one day two years ago.

Not the only way to get rid of them.
You could keep a pet boa constrictor, or put out some rat poison. I could think of many ways to build the perfect mouse trap. It would probably turn into a Rube Goldberg though.
... and about thread-locks; I think they're lame. The lounge is the perfect place to talk about controversial subjects. Nobody is forcing anyone to read what is posted here, and nobody has to respond.
The responsibility to not be offended rests mostly with the reader. Life will always present opposition to our ideals, and it's up to the individual to maintain a peaceful spirit.
For the easily agitated, there is even an ignore function within the forum itself. I wouldn't be surprised if people people exercise that feature on my posts. Come to think of it, that might be why I mostly hear crickets after commenting. I do need to work on tact.

When you see the Dolphins leaving that's when to worry.
They don't eat mice though, do they ?

Actually, I do not give a ****e if global warming exists or not. It's still good to reduce emissions and have less-consuming automobiles

That's basically my approach to it to. Whether or not anthropogenic climate change is real, it's still a damn good idea to save, conserve, curb pollution and basically not fiddle like Nero supposedly did when Rome burned (supposedly because he didn't).
Also, Brin's Startide Rising was one fantastic book.

Brin - sorry, Brin PhD! - like Dellingpole on the other side, seems a total Muppet. You can save 20 minutes of your life by just skipping to his conclusion which is more or less "carry on calling people names linked to the holocaust because I say so, and I have a PhD! and I've read the SkS website a bit".
I find it baffling how communicators and persuaders on both sides use the same ineffective tactic. Thankfully some scientists who do fully debate hate this too

Brin makes one really good point, I think:
Quote:
"Further, I accept that 'waste-not, want not' and 'a-penny-saved, a-penny-earned' and 'cleanliness-is-next-to-godliness' and 'genuine market competition' used to be good conservative attitudes.
|
But now it seems that your typical "conservatives" are all about plus-sizing everything - including, all too often, themselves.
