The only thing ABS does is help prevent the brakes from locking up. Naturally it's not going to be a huge discount. When the whole car, with thousands of sensors and calculations going on, is helping to prevent accidents at all times I'm sure the discount would be more signifigant.

That's not the story we got when ABS was coming online.

My home insurance costs about $375/year, and my home is much more valuable than my car. The reason it's comparatively cheap is because I'm much less likely to have an accident with my home than my car.

As a general rule, as risk goes down, the cost to insure against that risk also goes down. We will soon see discounts for automatic braking systems and lane keep assistance. Competition will drive the discounts.

Are you new at buying insurance?

The latest safety gizmo won't prompt "discounts"; all the other categories will simply increase in price faster. Gotta make sure your friendly neighborhood insurance salesperson remains the highest paid person in town.

Google, at least your first model designs should be less of a cartoon character...with bigger bumpers and crush zones.

By their enthusiasm, you could clearly see they are NOT car enthusiasts.
