This is a very strange problem.

I have tried running RTD Explorer on a Dell net-book and in a VM with the resolution set to 800x480. Neither of these had any problems.

Im not sure why this is happening, but I think its computer related, not RTD Explorer.

Sorry.

Great solution, many thanks. Suggestion, maybe add a feature that allows you to store your lastest configuration to a local file so you can tweak and keep a history of all the changes without having to manually record them.

Another cool feature would be to automatically reconnect the serial communications when they are interrupted.

It would be really great to be able to record a session while driving and then replay it at your leisure so as to be able to analyse all the parameters without crashing! (The car, NOT the computer).

Well right now you can record and then import the file into a program such as excel.

Before you start driving, go to file and click save as CSV. I believe thats what it is...its been awhile.

Type a name and hit save. It will be saving to the file while rtd is open. When your done, close RTD and it will finalize the file. You can then open it in Excel and view it. It is a CSV File.

We have plans to add playback in the future, but all in time.

Yes thanks, I have discovered that and tried it, but the columns don't match the headings - I ended up with the temperatures shifted left one column and I'm not sure why or which data is missing. And graphing the stuff is quite a task. Be much better when you implement replay!

Feature request (if you don't mind returning to topic):
How about a plug-in for a USB data acquisition module (like Cole-ParmerŪ USB Data Acquisition Modules, (sorry, the forum won't let me post links yet)) with the appropriate handles to configure the I/O. Then users could input any signal they can condition/configure/calibrate that is not available from the controller serial data. Speed sensors, temp sensors, tire pressure, voltages, currents, . . . (signal selection is left as an exercise for the reader)

Hey Adam, Kyle!

Great Job!! I've donated some money in the past and will more in the future to support your efforts...

Just wanted to ask:

How hard it would be to count AMP Hours?

We already have "Battery Amps" and elapsed Time... so we can estimate what went out of the Battery Pack... I can estimate what my charger AMP Hours puts into the pack...

Thank you.
-Youri.

Hello Youri,

The controller already tracks amp hour usage. It is displayed in the bottom right hand corner of RTD Explorer.

This is only for each time the controller is turned on. So if you drive to work, and use X amp hours, and then later on drive home you use y amp hours, your total between charges is x+y.
