Aerohead likes (liked) to test his CRX aeromods through top speed runs as well.

......
I tred the passenger mirror delete but didn't like it. The single wiper is also 4 inches longer than the stock one AND Rainex on other side. I had lightened it up 100 lbs but those rims and tires (195x50x15) added 32 lbs over the original steel 13s. I have since removed another 30 lbs from the interior but that extra rotating wt has made the car slow down to dismal 20.5 1/4 mile passes. The gas mileage remained at a 57 best since these 15s can carry 51 psi while the 13s had only 35. If I did it over again I would have at least gotten some 175x55x15s that are 3 lbs lighter than the 195s.....future plans are to sell this rim and tire package and put on light wt 13s. The new package of 13s will be nearly 1 lb lighter than the original 13 steelies.

I have not had a chance to get new mpg figures with the grill block since I am having EGR/CEL issues and the FE has worsened...should be fixed by this weekend.

Woah, I was just about to comment on this tire/wheel package, definetly not very aerodynamic. Do you auto cross or something?

Also, I'm a huge fan of aero top-speed testing. I do this with my 62 hp Tercel Wagon, with roof rack 85 mph, without, OVER 87 mph!!

The Audi's governed at 130, so can't really test that.. real happy with it's self learning shift patterns, rarely goes over 2500 rpm around town.

That newbie's Honda bumper reminds me of another member that did a lot of work on his EG Civic's front bumper with foam and paint, but at 0200, I can't remember who it was...

Anyone?

It was r-r-r-r-r-r-rrrrrroOOOOYAL BLUE, with a single opening on the passenger side of the car.

I don't do that, just drag race....and only 2 times with the Geo. I sell Mustang, Corvette, SRT10, SRT4, and many other sets of rims and tires, Since the Geo is my delivery truck I wanted to make it look a lot sharper than it did....it does now. Even though it's my business I never realized until after the fact that I could have put on the 175x55x15s instead of the 195s....but that 3 lbs per corner less wt would still not be enough to let the car run 19.9in the 1/4 likw it did with the lighter ugly steel 13s.

The only car modded with more power right now is my 05 SRT4 Neon. I bought it bone stock in Feb, 2008. At 1st I drove it just fine on 87 oct gas even though it was set up for premium....got 26 mpg while rated at 30. When I knew i'd put it on the track I started using 92 and 93 oct....FE jumped up to the epa rating! Car ran 8.8s at 80 in the 1/8th and 13.8 at 101 STOCK. At the end of racing season I had it converted to a stage 2 set up that consisted of 2.5 inch CAI and exhaust, different injectors, different ecu, and larger intercooler. This extra power required less fuel to maintain highway speeds and FE went up to 32 while ets dropped to 13.4s and 1/4 mph rose to 104 (8.4s at 85 mph 1/8th). The next step was a better flowing turbo that greatly improved everything, Boost is down to 15 psi compared to 22, ets dropped to 12.7s and mph in the 1/4 rose to 111, mph in 1/8th rose to 91 while et dropped to 8.1s, and 3 trips of 200 miles at 55 netted 40.1 mpg!!!! All the drag strip euns are on pump gas and with DOT legal tires. One of the aftermarkets has a special set of gears that make 80 mph achieved at only 2200 rpm while our stock gearing requires @ 4000! That set is $700.

The V6 Mustang is BONE stock. The Geo has ONLY wt reduction. The Horizon has LOTS of wt reduction and it's motor is a bone stock 2.5 switched to run with a carb set up and 84 electronics....no efi...CRAPPY FE.
