progress
I suspect that the atmosphere has been smiling and waiting in anticipation for a good 'feel' when the new Scion mods slide through at speed.
Nice!

It was a good day today!
Got the wheel skirts fiberglassed on the outside and glued the edges:
I'll do the Kamm panels tomorrow.
It coasts much better - I raised the tank average (nearly at the end of it) by 0.4MPG just today in about 45 miles of driving.

This is the end of an era, for me.
I am retiring my Scion xA, and will donate it to charity.
I pumped in 379 tankfuls of gasoline and driven it an indicated 168,563 miles; plus 4 gallons at the end to nurse it along until I picked up my 2015 e-Golf, which will be my daily driver.
Those four gallons of gasoline, will hopefully be the last gas I buy. Ever.
The right side video camera died after on of the colder nights we had recently. I have ordered two new cameras, but they still have not arrived - and I'll use them in my CarBEN project, instead.
I will pull my trusty ScanGauge II, so recently updated with the latest firmware, before donating the car.

Thanks Neil. It's been fun watching the evolution over time. And we have all breathed a little easier because of your efforts.
Hope the recipients are appreciative of the Scion's history.

Thanks Neil,
I have read every post and pondered some, as needed. I have a 2001 Silverado 3500 Crew cab Dually that has gotten 15mpg +- since new. My goal is to get that to 20 mpg, then more. I really appreciate the work and documentation that you have done with your XA. In line with the theory that "every little bit helps", I have a scan gauge, just bought some Gorilla tape, and will cover the grill and front end holes tomorrow, and have Pizza pans for the wheels. Other mods, like the ones you did, will follow. Thank you very much!
Kurt

I donated my '05 Scion xA RS2.0 today, to WGBH. They picked it up just after 7am.
The handbrake was stuck, so turning it around was a bit of a challenge.
Sorry to see it go, but happy to now be driving an electric car.
