Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Bummer about the US import hassles. That certainly limits my potential market!

I figured 3700 was fair given the tired hybrid pack (and given what KBB said). But I get the idea I should look into this a bit more and maybe raise the price.

I'm going to try to keep it together as a package, but if the aeromods don't interest the next owner, I'll certainly make them available to other Insight owners.

It's going to need tires (the RE92's). But you could get it through safety inspection with the winter tires, if you want.
$3700.
I wouldn't hesitate to drive this car anywhere.
Hi,

I'm a member from IC, and own a 2000 G1.

PM sent. You can consider it SOLD! pending proper inspection.

Thanks.

Were this US legal, I would buy it as well. Do I have to be a Canadian resident to just keep it registered there??? I see Ontario tags all the time.

Hi, Mister. Got your PM - you've got an email reply.

That was fast. Now I *know* the price was too reasonable!

I was in Moncton last spring (not with the Insight, though). I never did make it east with this car - I typically visit N.S. once a year or so.

I removed the aero mods, put the factory mirrors back on and gave it a bath & vacuum. Detailed photos taken at the request of the buyer.

I added them to post #1 for posterity.

A purchase is in the works. (and cheap is a relative thing).

That car would be legal in Wash state for sure, I am sure it would be in some of the others as well. It really does depend state to state. It's even a push button dash display so you wouldn't even need to change the gauge cluster to one that shows the odo and speedo in miles. It would be about $600 in fees from a Registered Importer to get all the paperwork done, in Washington state anyway. As for people in any states closer to where MetroMPG is, you'd have to do your homework to figure out what was required.

I totally understand what you mean about the logic vs emotion dichotomy that comes with vehicle ownership. Just an FYI, the same car all things being equal would fetch 5-6k and be gone in hours on my local craigslist (I know because I've been hunting one of these for 6 months and have craigsnotifica ap* sending me updates on all 2000-2006 Insights from the nearest 25 cities).
