Nah, they all ride around in huge black Escalades. Maybe the post office pays for the gas with their fuel franking priviledge and a 5 billion rubber check.

Many people who registered to purchase them was to be inline to buy another model and or to flip and make some quick money.

A lot of "black friday" shoppers I know buy stuff just to resell it on ebay for hundreds of dollars.

The resale value didn't nose dive like I thought it would.
Or maybe its an over wishful posting.
I say offer 80k for it.

I'm guessing you heard wrong. Tesla's website shows the MSRP for the standard Model S 85 is $80k and the P85D is a whopping $105k! I'd expect the P85 to be somewhere between those. The cheapest Teslas are still $70k (Model S 60)

Model S Design Studio | Tesla Motors

My local craigslist has over twenty Tesla Model S's available. The prices for the P85s are in the same range as the one you posted ($84k-$110k).

My understanding of Tesla's game plan was 2-seat conversion => high-end sedan => mid-range sedan. They've slotted in the X, and the P85 is just the S with the X drivetrain.

Helluva way to get to Mars.

And don't forget the options! A couple grand here, five thousand there. You can easily add another ten thousand dollars.
