Just picked up some garden edging stuff, gonna do a front air dam and possibly side skirts

Also found out I can shift into 6th before 40 but requires a good amount of throttle to do so

I believe I start in 3rd(that's what my dash says, and it feels that way). Helps a lot in the rain

I wanna say lowest I've seen is like 1200 in 6th, that was right around 45 when I did the manual mode into 6th

I really wish I had more control over my car like you do. Make life so much easier
Gotta do what's right for you. I don't do any drag strip, and I love control over the car, so it was right for me- plus your concerns over the standard are founded. I have heard the issues slowed/were corrected by 2012, and non existent after 2013- but I do not know for sure. I am 100% comfortable with it because there are so many GTs not only with their 420 HP, but cranked up higher and still beating on the transmission. If it can take that, it can handle me hypermiling the 6 lol

Finished up my blocks tonight. Pics to come in the morning. I decided to leave the top grille unblocked to feed the radiator(both grilles feed it) and to not effect my fog lights at night

Have you seen my upper? Not perfect, but doesn't block up my upper fogs.

I really have to find something better than clear duct tape to attach it

Also took off the massive front plate holder. That alone should net me like .2 mpg

That's actually a pretty good idea

I just refinished my blocks after finding out my model year grilles can be pulled out the front like your body style. So at first I started with foam board at the back for the top and bottom, but I had clearance issues on the bottom so I ended up using the clear duct tape from the back side on the bottom grille and foam board on the top grille. I'll be monitoring my coolant temps closely these next few weeks as Texas heat returns

And surely your 5.0 makes more heat. One fringe benefit I really love is the extra protection to the radiator. If one looks at the image full size, it's very clear all the damage done to it by rocks and road debris- even bugs.

I'd love to see my radiator after 50,000 miles compared to an average Mustang after that time (distance). Sure cooling is reduced, but I would hazard a guess that grille blocked radiators will maintain a higher max performance level than same mileage vehicles without.

Coolant got up to 205 on the morning commute a few times, but dropped down to 190ish occasionally. That's with heater on

My guess is blocked radiators will be in a lot better shape, at least externally. I know when removing and reinstalling the grilles, I could see rock/road debri damage on mine already with only 8,600 miles

Woohoo first 20 mpg tank! However it consisted of a 80ish mile trip that was 80% highway, which one way my car was reading about 23 mpg. Was hoping for more since I never went above 60, but it's hilly terrain which hurt the trip it I'm sure
