I have the 15inch steel wheels, see pix below

found these for sale

^^- these are the same price as getting new tires alone and have a little over 50% tread left

I called the dealer they don't know but weighed a Scion TC alloy for me they had, it was 20lbs not lots of help but thanks, Yaris should be less. Of course factory alloys will be heavier than aftermarket, but they are tough and should be well made.

looking on eBay now

look up your tire and find the weight for it on the manufacturers website (or email them) and then bathroom scale the wheel and tire and you'll have a good idea what you have..

I agree rolling down the highway it won't make much difference, this is were the aerodynamics of moonies vs the weight of the alloys argument comes into play. I mentioned earlier I live in a big city so there is lots of starting and stopping.

Does all the driving I do in traffic make a bigger impact than how aerodynamic I am cruising down the interstate (which I do a fair amount of) I drive a Yaris which has a CD of .29 so I though weight might have a bigger impact than smooth hubcaps for me.

On another forum people have put aluminum crank pulleys on the Yarii and noticed quite a difference. As I start to shop for new tires I thought hmm is there an opportunity here to take load off the engine when I am doing all that accelerating back up to speed. Like someone mentioned on a different thread I don't won't to miss a chance to be a little more efficient.

pictures?

**EDIT**
found this I think I get what you mean

I think i might just go with the stock Bridgestones they weigh 18lbs and are supposed to be LRR, in fact I think its the same tire on the Insight.

OK after spending some time over at yarisworld.com it looks like the steelies weight 15lbs not too bad which makes the stock combo 33lbs. It looks like the factory alloys weigh the same maybe a tad heavier.

I would have to drop some serious coin to get something lighter and I am not ready to do that.
