Random Update for a three year old thread.

My 2007 Cobalt is still in the family, and doing very well. I've had zero problems with it, a relief after the disaster that was my smart car.

I'm managing to average 6.1L tanks in the summer, and around 6.5L tanks in the winter. I'm just less willing to really push my hypermiling in the winter, for safety reasons. And anyways, 6.5L / 100km is still much better than the 8.1L/100km rating.

I did eventually have to take off the lowered front air dam, because it was simply too low to deal with the snow up here in Canadia.

My new drive to work is 30km one way, and an even mix of highway and city. It gives me a constant challenge to max fuel economy.

Today, I managed a 5.6L/ 100km tank, which is pretty respectable!
