At least in Brazil and some neighboring countries, Chevy is often reported to make engines that are mediocre but reliable and easy to fix. No wonder the Chevrolet Onix took the leadership in Brazil, and Chevrolet also became the favorite brand among taxi drivers in many Brazilian cities.

According to the Detroit Free Press and Detroit News, Ford, Honda and Toyota all challenged the accuracy of the claim, and Chevrolet subsequently said it would stop running the ad.

This hasn't got anything to do with efficiency though. Seems perfect for the lounge.

Ford was plagued by transmission failures here, and Toyota owners here are more careful about maintenance than it seems to happen there in the U.S., so any reliability ranking might be somewhat biased. Well, the newer generations of GM engines seem less indulging to lack of maintenance as the Stovebolt Six and the 153 straight-4 used to be, while the Corolla now seems to fare better than the Cruze in that regard...

Mom's mechanic says he came from a Chevrolet family, but drives Fords. Dad had a pretty good experience with his Fords, but not equal to Mom's with her Toyota, although she still has not hit 200,000 miles, let alone 250,000 or 350,000.
It is an ad. One should realize they cherry-pick and otherwise manipulate data, just like I do on my dating profile, where I pretend I have my act together.

Maybe we should change the thread title then?
'Chevy ad says Chevy is more reliable...'

The point was that they were using a survey as a source. "Chevy-sponsored survey says Chevy is more reliable?"

Put your best foot forward and drag the other behind.
I probably have 5 years of online dating experience, so there was a lot of time to tweak the profile to make it interesting, funny, and honest. A dating profile is just the resume to get the interview. Dating will slowly introduce the character flaws or other areas of incompatibility.
Really though, I view it as a numbers game; a process of getting the most exposure as possible while refining techniques to quickly eliminate bad matches. I set no geographic limitations on who I was willing to meet, but lucked out and found my hot wife just 20 min away.
