All phone providers have since stopped offering land line service.
I'll end up erecting a tower, installing the 'yagi,' and bring the signal in with coax.
Because of the millions of elsewhereans pouring into Texas, and willing to pay West Coast, Left Coast, and Mid Coast real estate prices, booming property values caused our property tax to 'double' in a year, not only eating entirely, the last social security raise, but taking my income into negative territory. While cannibalism is illegal in Texas, The Denton County Appraisal District hasn't seemed to get the memo.
Those Texan residents living before the boom will end up 'eaten' by the County.
With income going 'backwards', it's hard to budget for the pursuit of happiness.

' robo-taxi ' drag
I ran the dimensional analysis using the estimated values Vekke posted.
For the robo-taxi's fineness ratio and effective fineness ratio, 'outlier' empirical Cds within the same constraints have been reported as low as 0.175.
Also, we know from Mercedes-Benz that, as Cd approaches this drag threshold, that road load is diminished to such a reduced value, such that all heat flux from battery, motor, and power-electronics is so low, as to be successfully rejected from an aerodynamically passive 'cooling plate', rather than a 'porous' radiator heat exchange medium, which itself, 'compounds' drag reduction.

Not all phone providers. Nv telco has land lines for the people who for some reason still use them. However out of the 50 pair bundle on the pole outside there is perhaps only 5 pairs of odd color combinations still useable. That's what the lineman said when I asked who was still using landlines. As those pairs fail, somebody is gonna lose their desk phone.
Not sure how you connect a portable phone to an antenna anymore, the last one I could was on the Nokia that had an external one. Still works after 20 years
You have cable TV? That's how I connect anymore but there's Musks system for waaay out in the boonies. My Son has a dish for some local system, pointed either downtown or at the local broadcast mountain. I hear there's a system that uses your mobile phone to provide requests and signal is sent back via the airwaves.
There's no option for privacy on any of these systems. They were tapping phone lines back in the '30s, almost a hundred years ago.

Cooling plate is otherwise ise known as "heat sink" wonder how well that works in LA$ Vega$ or Phoenix or even in your neck of the woods during summer?

How does that affect faxes and burglar alarms?
It's not like I don't monitor the situation. The last cell phone I was interested in was the Pinephone 64, but turns out it doesn't work with North American providers.

So now I have an eye on the Brax3 phone, It will be available next February for $279.
This protects you from third parties. The only provider I'd trust is Starlink.

Not so much. They can triangulate fron cell tower data to something like 15 ft radius which is close enough to prove intent in court.

I'll have to educate myself. Cell tower operators have insight into Starlink traffic?
Proving intent in court seems like an edge case. I thought it was mostly pilfered passwords and bank credentials.
Does The Onion Router work on cell phones?

This is now my favorite Tesla vehicle.
About the size of my Clark Cortez -- I wanna live in one.

Never had it. For the 'cost', and available free time I might have had to view it, it would never pencil out.
All cell phone conversations are recorded and warehoused around the country by USHS. They don't need court orders for wiretapping anymore. It protects me and the nation against some bad actors.
I just went through my second identity theft though, which would have been difficult with the land line. Double-edged swords!
