A little over 4400 miles now, first service will be 8/20 at the selling dealership. Only issue has been right rear wheel alignment which will be checked at the first service to document the issue.

Running flawlessly, no other issues other than right rear wheel.

Lifetime mileage since new, including the 15 miles on the odometer when I took delivery is 54.3 mpg, with instrumentation reading 55.5 ( pretty close but still optimistic).

It uses the same oil filter as my 1gen Insight, so I have an additional spare oil filter.

Last refill was @ $2.149 and 56.01 mpg, LESS THAN 4 CENTS A MILE.

regards
mech

That's awesome!!!

At .03x cents a mile aren't your getting around the same as a EV cost per mile???

I thought Neil posted his Leaf was about 4.5 cents per mile, could be wrong, but it's very close.

Right at 600 watt hours per mile for the Mirage on this last tank.

This is the best car for speed bumps I have ever driven

I don't even slow down, while the jacked up Ford truck behind me slams on his brakes.

This almost makes me want to move to the country, as it stands now with my 7 miles/day it wouldn't make much sense. Plus we don't have a Mitsubishi dealership so I would be worried about warranty work.

So, a gasser can come close to EV fuel cost/mile?

Not bad when you remember one little detail. Gas has a substantial road use tax. Electrons have none....... yet.

Ready to roll the lil Mits to work and the tire light was on...Luckily this happened at home and was able to plug it and pump er up then on my way...Late for work the first time in 8 yrs..

Got me thinkin if this would have happened on the interstate rather than the driveway I would have been relegated to changing the tire...Not a fan of an oddball donut on the car so I just purchased a factory 14" Aluminum ES wheel...It appears the space the current donut is in will have enough room to fit a factory wheel and tire....Keep ya informed Old Mechanic incase you or any other Mits owners want a reg size wheel and tire...BTW the spare is a 14" steel wheel so maybe just swapping over to a reg size tire and reusing the spare steel wheel is another option.

On a side note.My last tank averaged 49.6mpg...Have now racked up 23,580 miles and still tight, quiet and smooth.

And electrics have a substantial government subsidy at the time of purchase... For now.

Today I took MPGray in for her first (5k) service. The dealership is 120 miles away from my home. I took route 17 an exponentially more relaxing drive and left at 5:50 AM for a 9 AM appointment for state inspection, oil change and alignment check. Got there indicating just over 60 MPG, average speed probably high 40sto low 50s.

The only flaw on this car is rear wheel misalignment and it was outside the specifications particularly in total toe almost twice the maximum allowable. Everything seems to be settled in with no measurable oil consumption. The dealership experience could not have been better. Including this service and the original purchase of the car, I have spent less than two hours at Shirley Slack Mitsubishi of Fredericksburg and I have not one single complaint, as close to perfect as I have ever seen myself in almost 50 years.

I have confidence they will get the rear axle issue resolved and in the time, until that happens, I'll monitor tire wear religiously. So far the wear is not really measurable with my old Milton (made in Chicago) tread depth measurement gauge at 5k miles.

regards
mech
