It has been many years, but I could have sworn that I saw a published figure of 'approximately' .47 .

This was in a Motorbooks guide to the car that I used to have.

It was pretty thorough guide to the car.

Where can I find a reputable, tested source for the drag count ?

Everything I am finding is estimates.

I was pretty impressed with the software myself, since this was the exact Cd that i remembered reading about.
One other thing I found interesting is pressure zones around the stalks of the rear view mirrors leading up the side glass.

Hucho published three Cds for KG:
*Cd 0.39 (coupe)
*Cd 0.38 (ragtop with top up)
*Cd 0.48 (ragtop with top down)
It may be the convertible with the top down that you're remembering.
