I know it's been talked about, but has anyone done any sort of scientific ABAB tests here for how much headlight use can decrease MPG?

No ABA testing but at~750 watts per hp a standard pair of 55 watt lights takes up 12 or 13% of a hp. Mi hids use only about9% of a hp.
What is the conversion from hp to mpg?????

The difference is too small to be measurable in real-life testing.

20 degrees out? I'd wear shorts!
Keep the windows cracked open a smidge so all that moist hot breath goes out. Scrapers are made for scraping ya know? They work equally well inside and out.
Warm it by starting it then driving it.

^ Sheesh
If you are such an efficiency enthusiast you WOULD care about the gas burned. And you would benefit from grille blocking, engine blankets, and perhaps checking to see if your thermostat is working properly. And if you have researched this at all, you would already know that idling is the WORST way to warm up an engine not just because of the wasted gas and extra emissions, but because it is the slowest way to warm it up thus the engine experiences more wear from being cold longer than when it's driven straight off.

Most of the people I know are like most of the people you know. The evidence points to them being idiots.
