No on weekends they fill it with the family, this discussion has gone full circle. First you aren't allowed to haul your family around because "most" of the time you are single occupancy, now you can't use the family hauler to go to dinner or on vacation. How about everybody just worry about their own business. People will make decisions based on what fits their needs best. Just because you might make a different choice oh well.

OP, keep the sienna, stop worrying about mpg, and drive the van. If you get 24, you get 24. Your not putting 10-20k miles a year on it are you? If not, who cares? I understand that money is a big deal nowadays but there are some things that are worth spending the money on and simply not worrying about. If the van was getting 8-17mpg then I would comment further but 24 isn't all that bad.

I was referencing what you said about driving a Prius 30 miles a day vs a Suburban 3 miles a day. The only way the Suburban beats the Prius is if it is never driven.
I personally don't give a hoot what anyone drives. Suburban, Prius, F-14 Tomcat, whatever. It isn't my decision.

I thought about leasing a helicopter for my commute but there is nowhere to land at work :/.

I've talked to the guy. The Metro was cheap, the stretch was cheap; and he didn't take much of a hit on gas mileage. If your kids wouldn't ride in a cool stretch limo with cool gull-wing doors; then, well, your kids need better friends.

Just buy a school bus and swap in a 600cc motorcycle engine. With some aeromods and a 25' boat tail you're bound to get at least 26mpg, and the 0-60 wouldn't be that bad at around 230 seconds. The only real problem would be repainting it, as that side corrugation can be difficult to sand.
