Yes, it's old. I believe 2.0 was already in testing when this video was made. Or like you say, now maybe 3.0 or higher. It's anyone's guess what it's now capable of.

As far as privacy...

It may be impossible to put the genie back in the bottle...

One 'passive' method of hindering something is to NEITHER actively nor accidentally HELP it.

Fine 99.99999% of us have nothing to hide, but our government is wasting million or billions tracking our every movement, recording it forever just in case. Total waste of money we are borrowing from China, or the newest scheme make everyone buy US saving bonds unless you opt out.

Wow. A bit harsh, don't you think?
Yes, I am a Canadian spy, living a mere 10 miles from your border, using Ecomodder as my primary intelligence gateway in an effort to eventually undo all of you!

Funny. Your sarcasm is appreciated.
I don't think being a spy is the issue here.
Note XYZ's location: Nowhere
P.S. how do you know where he lives?

More important point: What if you are wrong about your assessment? Are we (USA)) going to be attacked by Canada? This is the point!

I don't believe XYZ lives in the USA. But, your flawed surveillance makes me guilty by association. I'm innocent.

I don't expect things to get bad overnight. They'll slowly continue to whittle away at our freedoms as they've been doing since the beginning.

That is exactly the point.

The phrase "You only have to be afraid if you have something to hide" is the embodiment of a fallacious belief. The mindset that government could never do anything wrongful and that unlimited increases in authority are never a threat to the freedoms of the citizenry is an invitation to the establishment of a police state.

Read about the history of any authoritarian state. In virtually all cases power was not immediately seized by a dictator. No, that usually was not the first step. The trend toward a police state was welcomed by most of the people, thinking that they had nothing to fear.

That is why I said that I fear those who promote that belief.

I am glad that main point has been made.

The way to complete control isn't an iron fist. It's "small concessions to protect the public against the enemy." "Oh, it's okay to make this one little change, not important." Then another. Then take one point further, and so on.

Eventually we'll all have chips in our bodies to "track and keep our universal health records, and stop identity theft" which will be tracking every individual at all times.
