Covered in link in post 45 above. Sometimes it helps to follow the White Rabbit down the link hole, see you on the other side Alice.

Cooling covered. Positive air flow as a result 100's of cfmof intake charge flow.
Mount the RC or better muiltu pole 3phase ac aka BLDC motor( same thing as a permanent magnet alternator) into a viscosity stack centerable on stator vains that improve the turbocharger proformance.
Rpm limit 400,000 rpm @700w 50k 7500w. See link.above For link.

I called Turbonetics about the RPM question
.
Quote:
called Turbonetics teck department... and yes we can regulate shaft speed to a specific max rpm is an achievable goal. Just open the waste gate.. teck said 20,000 was a very reasonable goal.

Atmospheric temperature is all the genhead would see and a fraction of that as the suction of the impeller would have a cooling effect. Run off the cold side. From linked post.
You could use the voltage signal from the motor as an input to Raspberry Pi which would tell a Servo to open and close the vgt veins on a he351 v e based on RPM. Standard Automotive plus minus 3 bar map sensor and now you've also got a boost Factor the Raspberry Pi can control your he351 or any other vgt Turbo. Add a drive pressure s sensory as well so you can actually adjust your power output so asto not overdo it on the exhaust Drive pressure causing an EGR effect by not being able to expel all of this spent gases. Then again excessive drive pressure maybe the key to running diesel on lean burn.
It would take something like and E motorcycle controller to be able to handle 10 horsepower electric motor regen and spool up assisting. And a sizable buck-boost for times when the wheels are not spinning fast enough. What I learned at the NDHRA National Diesel Hot Rod Association drag race) in Billings Montana; the ideal Drive pressure is1:1 meaning one pound of exhaust pressure is 1 lb of intake pressure so you can load the turbo to this ratio and not hurt the motor.

Excessive drive pressure is the key to blowing the head gasket on a diesel.

For a stationary application it would eventually become more efficient, since the weight penalty of an eventual steam-based waste heat recovery would be less sensible than in a vehicle.

The capstone 30kw lives inside a 30" wide cabinet with clearance. I've seen the business part (turbine, generator, heat exchanger less controls and cabinet ) its about the size of a modern V8 but cylindrical and lighter than the full dress engine . Ive been told the turbine/generator only (less heat exchanger) is about the size of 2 footballs end to end, the rest is heat exchanger. And still pushes 530°F exhaust (47kw waste heat) theas are proven in transportation their websites shows many case studies proving this. Granted 30 kw is probably a little overboard. Using a leaf pack as an example could run the Gen set for 1 hour and drive for 3 ( assuming they have cracked the code to allow charging discharge at the same time)

Wrightspeed's system doesn't seem to rely on the exhaust gases to drive a generator, unless it's similar to the free-turbine setup used in turboprop aircraft or the turboshaft engines fitted to helicopters.
