As for the attachment of the magnets to the wheels (they are alloys, so they're not magnetic) I have a very temporary solution for the time being. I'm currently using duct tape wrapped around each spoke to hold each magnet in place. I've had these on for a week now with no slippage and no problems with the duct tape coming off. I did this until I can figure out a more permanent way of attaching the magnets. I'm thinking about gorilla glue, but would like something that allows me to remove the magnets if I ever sell the vehicle. I'll post pics later, I'm on my way to class at the moment.

Ahh, I guess I was having a senior moment....lol. I didn't think of having the magnets affixed to the wheel. that way they hold on the pan, gotcha. Thanks for clarification.

Just FYI if it's regular duct tape, it will eventually fail from weather and heat. you could pick up some foil ducting tape which will hold up to the heat and weather better. I use that stuff on most projects pertaining to my car and it holds up great.

Thanks for the info Tom. It is regular duct tape for the time being, until I can figure out something more permanent. I have been checking often to make sure that things are not coming undone, and replacing/re-taping as needed (safety first!). I'll grab some of that foil tape, looks like good stuff. Thanks

I have a question for all of you veteran modders/hypermilers out there. Do you think that 30-35 highway mpg is an unreasonable goal to set for my 3.0l v6 accord? After I finish the mods that I have planned of course: Wheel covers, grill block, instrumentation, lowering of the car. This car has an epa estimated 26 mpg on the highway as is, and the old epa was 27 I believe.

I'm no veteran but over the summer anyway I pushed 25MPG's out of a 4.0L I6 4x4 Cherokee rated at 19MPG Highway. That's with only a grill block and skid plate. So I'd say 30MPG's should be easy for your setup. With 35MPG's being more of a challenge but do able.

Is the Cherokee manual or automatic?

A lot of people on Jeepforum and NAXJA are getting 25+mpg with the manuals
