Do you think even 1 person who was going to fill plastic bags with gasoline read these Tweets and decided not to? Perhaps...
Probably as effective as Tweeting "don't do meth because it's bad for your health".

Gas cans are just a scam for idiots who can't think for themselves! Storing a year's worth of extra gasoline isn't rocket science. I've been using the same bags for years, just need to tape up any holes that develop. The filled bags fit nicely on a large shelf above my wood stove.

It's the Big Corporate Gas Can Industry lying to us about the merits of their redundant products.

I'll admit to having a gas can with no spout, cap, or vent cap and I found that plastic bags tied around the necks work just fine! True! Just don't fill too high, slosh it too much, or tip it over. Yes, I thought I'd just go buy a replacement spout/cap but they're $15! That's stupid!

I went with NATO-style cans with the safety clips. Let Darwin have the next guy.
The clamp-on spout lives in the shotgun door pocket.

I remember when it was not so uncommon for gas stations in my country to sell fuel on a plastic bag specifically made to hold 5 litre of fuel. Nowadays they can't even sell fuel on a regular plastic bottle.
