Awesome swap choice. My wife really wanted me to do this kind of swap in a sedan. I somewhat lost interest in it as it is a pain to find a clean rust free car from this era that has not been molested.

There's actually a ton of them in my area for cheap. Still running and driving for under $1,200 and in decent shape.

Paid $600 for mine with no rust. Drove it to walmart, bought two tires immediately after I bought it and drove it home. 41mpg on the way home.

Are you down south? Rust free and stock in Ohio is a rare find. Maybe too much salt on the roads, maybe too many fast and furious ricers. Either way, even the sedans in good shape are extremely hard to find here.
Nice deal on your $600 find. My CX is a similar story. Bought from the original owner, garaged its whole life and maintained really well. The trans input shaft bearing was whining really loud and the previous owner felt the cost of a tranny and clutch was too much to sink into the car. I drove it home, picked up a used VX trans for $150 and a new clutch kit for $90 and was back on the road getting 45+ mpg. Before this deal came up I was really looking for a sedan LX.

I was thinking the same thing at first. but then I read on... nice job on the rebuild.

This is a very cool project. given that the VX motor only produce 97hp and the sedan is heavier than the hb, have you considered lighten up the weight of the body? chassis acid dipping, or removing unnecessary parts..etc

under body belly pan and rear diffuser will also help reduce the drag of the longer body

My plans to compensate the weight difference are:

-Remove sound deadening.
-Lighter Battery
-Carbon Trunk and Hood (Colored matched to car)

and I am not sure on this, but I believe the aftermarket Sunroof is lighter then the metal taken from up top. Have to check into it.

Got alittle bit of work done tonight. Finished up the Post Mount. Finished the touches on the intake manifold. Still undecided about the booster port. Its pretty rusted. Might replace it if the fitting is pitted.

Got the Vtec solenoid masked, painted, and put back together.

Put the Energy Suspension Motor mount on as well as the Cam Gear.

Just really waiting on my Water Pump and Oil Pump to come before I can really get motivated. Tinkering is fun but I have alot of man hours and time is slowing as the wife is getting further along in the pregnancy.

The only thing that bothers me is the lack of a media tumbler. I dont have the cash to drop on new bolts and really debating a Harbor Freight Media tumbler. I mean, after all, everything is SO fresh, the bolts would almost take away from it, ya know?

Hopefully this weekend if the heat wave breaks, I can install my rear extended lugs, adjustable rear camber arms, and aluminum radiator.
