That is true about propane, but propane is used solely as a gas and has not been used as a liquid spray for a good comparison. Gasoline is sprayed as a liquid form into the engine and not as a true vapor.
I ordered the plans back in the eighties and was looking for someone who had done the same and gave it an honest try.

There's no doubt that a new and innovative fueling system could maybe possibly (you never know) improve efficiency maybe slightly. A carb? wwwweeellll...there's always that chance. People think that a magic fueling solution will save the day, but what about the other efficiency losses through heat and friction? Exhaust heat - 40%. Coolant heat - 30%. Friction - 5%. Actual work done - 25%. Losses from gasoline not doing anything at all and just passing through (somehow) doesn't even factor in.
Honestly, these are just numbers from a quick Google search (I'm no engineer). But I think it says something.
SOUL-DRIFTER: by Unicorn Corral, drmiller100 was merely referring to the section of this forum dedicated to things like HHO, fancy magical spark plugs, magic gas additives, etc. You know, things that promise to double your mileage but really don't.
Adding acetone has gotten me to work for free for years. Oh wait...I ride bicycle.

The fuel economy of a throtteled gasoline engine doesn't appear to usually benifet from from a cooled A/F charge.

I think the best approach here is...since I have the unit, is to adapt it onto one of my cars and test it for myself.

Smoky's engine worked but it produced NOX off the scale. This was at the same time the EPA was regulating NOX so everyone dropped it.
As for vapour carburetors, watch the movie "gas hole" and don't tell anyone what you are doing LOL. |

the fact is that nox is very low at 22 too 23 too 1 afrs,
add steam injection like smoky did with his plasma ignition you can 30 too 1 afrs. |

I think the point was that propane is a gas, so its a good comparison to gasoline thats been completely vaporized. If the claims of increased milage were true, you should see the same increase using propane. You have to correct for the btu/lb content, but thats simple. Since I haven't heard great claims of better milage with LP, I don't think just completely vaporizing the gasoline is going to get you much improvement.
