I know I shouldn't complain, but I'm not happy with mid 17s. Not when I wa sgetting mid 20 almost 21... Then again the temps have been almost unseasonably cold and the snow the last few days isn't helping. But as mentioned elsewhere, I do carpool.

One other thing, I did change to different tires, still 31s. So I have to wonder if that hurt too. Even though I also had a front end alignment.

On the other hand, my F150 dropped from mid 17s to mid 15s...

I was feeling really good about getting 27.9mpg with my minvan with a 3.8 V6.

Then I changed my oil to a thinner synthetic, pumped up my tires to the max, installed a grill block, and sat back waiting for those mpg points to start rolling in. Instead I've been getting more like 26.6.

I was kind of disappointed till I found this in aeroheads album:

Since it's been colder than 20F for a while, and I drive around between 5280 and 11,300 in elevation, I started feeling a bit better about it.

Someone somewhere said, "Can't do anything about the weather."

Here's one to make everyone else feel better about their mileage. My trip home last night.

18F + 14" snow + 4Miles = 11.8MPG's

That's right folks, a whopping 11.8MPG's. Which brings my tank average down to 13.2MPG's. One of the downfalls of running an overnight building lockup service, can't wait until morning for the snow plows to clear the roads. I was driving through 2foot drifts to get to a few of the places. Good news is the under body panels still look ok. I was a little worried I would bend them with the snow.

You can keep the snow. Good stuff for skiing on. Not so good for just about anything else.

You should feel good about this though... most of us (brave enough) cannot do that with our Honda's!

I hate the snow and extreme cold, my next entry will suck for the work truck. I'm sure I will lose around two mpg

Not 2 foot of snow, but a honda will drag itself through snow up to it's bumper with approprate tires.

Looking at that table explanes a lot about why my samurai gets such poor milage. We only have a bit of paved road and my 5 mile (one way) drive to work barely gets my rig up to temp, and only the last half mile is on pavement. That 35% hit for gravel varifies what I have suspected for a while.
