Cut them off and send them to me, I like having the windows open a crack and any time I forget to close them when I flip on the wipers or the washer spray.... bam, wet leg and arm - with bonus bug guts!

I remember he tried differently shaped gutters when he did the detail optimization of the VW Golf (I or II) in his book, but I don't recall what the impact on drag was.

Would you say the book is worth the 100 bucks it's currently selling for on amazon?

It took all of ten minutes. I'm not worried about a few drops getting into the car. It's probably not going to make a big difference but it's the principal.

Im thinking those might have been the doing of the NVH team. I wonder if you will hear any additional wind noise now.

Ben, this book probably is available for loan in every University having an engineering school. You should check if you can get your hands on it at your University.

I've read it, and I still want to get my own copy, so I definitely think it's worth every penny. And if you can find a friend who's a member of the SAE, you can get it even cheaper.

That's right, dartmouth has a huge library. I'll go check it out before I start buying shelf-dressing

EDIT: Maybe I'll become an SAE member, only 10 bucks for students

Noise, Vibration and Harshness. They are the people that "insulate" modern cars from the oustide world. Soften this bushing here I felt that expansion joint in the hwy, add sound insulation there so we dont feel the fuel pump whizzing around. Change the shape of the wiper arms to stop the whistling.. etc..

How do you know they don't reduce drag?
