That seem to clear up a bit.

I think 175/70r13 it is....
I run 13" VX rims on my 98 Dx Civic. 175/70-R13 Michelin Defenders (get those). I love 'em. My stock rim/tire was 185/65-R14, like yours.

And I know this will sound nuts but pumped up to 60psi like I always have them, I still see a 2.9% undercount on distance when I calculate it using a GPS app. I have run the calculation repeatedly.

Also, be aware, there are tradeoffs if you go LRR in addition to the 13" rims.... in heavy rain LRR tires, I am sure, do not have the same cornering and braking. So I drive slower and corner slower and keep an eye out ahead of me. Those are good driving techniques anyway.

High tire pressure should have next to no influence on the distance the car moves at each rotation of the wheels, nor does thread wear.

Whether the contact patch is large or small, the thread still lies flat on the tarmac. The radial wires prevent it from expanding with pressure.
The distance traveled with each rotation is the same as the length of those radial loop wires.

I just don't know how I feel bout pumping it up to 60psi. Roads here aren't like roads in California. Due to snow and ice, the snow plow scraped up the road pretty bad. Cracks and splits, pot holes. I can do 40 or may be 44psi. Would that help some?

Well only you know your conditions. 44 IS MAX sidewall and also perfectly safe. It is low pressure you really want to look out for. All the flexing it allows can cause heat and blowouts. You'll be fine and happy at 40 or 44.
