There are always questions. If I go back to New Year's Day, 1980, am I 37 years or 8 months old?!

Do I go back naked like in Terminator?

This isn't "Gargoyles," you can't magically swallow a spellbook, and swallowing a flash drive wouldn't do any good.

In the Terminator universe, could you go back in time with something in your mouth?

You might be able to transport the stock section for one day, so maybe you could print out the top 20 stocks for a given period, with their highs and lows.

A hundred dollars invested in 1980 might be enough to buy Tesla when Musk bought it. Knowing what did and didn't work for him, hopefully you could do at least as well.

I saw something on television about all of the places in the world that don't have clean water, but often the water table is relatively close to the surface.

Engineering students designed a manual well drill, they produced units for $1,600, and you could transport it in the back of a truck, so you could drill a well anywhere, as long as the water table was high enough.

I would supposedly have over $8 million when I turned 21 in 2000.

I think that a good use of my resources would be to reach out to that school and offer a million dollars to design the drill and then create an organization to get the drill to different communities and help people all over the world get clean water.

Keep investing, but also keep helping people.

Also, never buy a Subaru!

Back in the (I dunno 90s?) I saw that some North Eugene High School students had prototyped a device to turn a tractor's hydraulic bucket into a mobile cement mixer. I thought it was exteremely useful but never saw it again.

Five years ago Bitcoin was already at $4383.44. By December it was at $14341.02. Today its 19,298.42. So triple the holdings in 2 months. Versus quadruple to current date.

That's why I said five years ago it was already at that number.

About that time I bought a hardware wallet, but never figured out how to populate it. Meet-up at a cafe and trust a stranger seemed the best bet.

I'd get to work introducing the technology and concepts that exist today, to advance where we'd be at today.

I'd also foil the 9/11 attack, though it still seems difficult to figure out how I would go about doing that. My memory on other things is fuzzy, so I may be able to stop other things like the Vegas shooting, but my timing might be wrong.

At some point the government would become convinced you are either a. actually from the future and an asset that cannot be left to their own devices, or b. implicated in everything predicted to happen. I'm curious how that would play out.

Your keyword is 'John Titor'.

HeckleFish doesn't have much to say about this one. Some good lawyer jokes though.

The Long Term Goal on my resume half for my entire working career was "Investigate innovations in [something I forget] and communicate these possibilities to others". PageMaker and the LaserWriter was a high point.

....and you'd be six years late for Building Seven and 9/11.

Hardware wallet = removable encrypted hard drive?

I find it hard that you didn't figure out how to populate it

It was a novelty at the time. I looked at a vending machine in a shopping mall but it required a credit card. The cash option was to meetup in a coffe shop with a stranger, but I was [possibly still am] too reclusive.

I gave it to my son when he offered to transfer some into it, but never saw it again.
