Always write the post in your favorite text editor or word processor ( saving often ) and copy paste as plain text into the the post box. If I do a short message like this one I will just copy before hitting reply.

I have had this happen several times. I have a workaround and a suggestion.

The workaround is to open a second tab on the EM forum and then click Recent Posts, and if your browser (I use Firefox) has a timed auto-reload option, set that to 5 minutes or slightly longer, and that will reset the inactivity timer. If you don't have this plugin, then you can do this manually.
The suggestion is to Control-A (select all) and Control-C (copy to the clipboard) the entire post *before* you click Submit Reply. If you have not been using the second tab to refresh the timer, then you can go to a second tab now and check if you are still logged in, and sign (back) in if need be, before clicking Submit Reply.

For the record, I try to tell myself that I need to finish messages before I need to worry about timing out, otherwise they are just too long!
You can see how well that works for me...

Looks as if an aeronautical engineer modified a Lola kit car. ( brilliant ! )
I think I recognize the windshield and headlight civers.
I love it.

Watkins Glen? Green Grand Prix was mentioned in this thread. Were those last couple pictures posted?
