Don't worry about replying to old threads. I'm not sure why that's an issue on some forums. It's completely fine to add new info!

I think the best tank I got was 62.5 MPG (Google says that is 3.763433 liters per 100 km).

My CBR 250R is quite a bit less competitive, the VFR 400R as well, but my SV650SF pulls some serious numbers.

The SV's best tank is sitting at 83.9 MPG, with a lifetime MPG of 70.0 which includes a trackday. I installed new cams from the V-Strom which are optimized for lower RPMs, but haven't completed a whole tank yet. This bike has an open loop fuel system, so it doesn't adjust the fueling. That may mean I have to get it tuned to see any improvements. I'm shooting for 100 though! Other parts were also installed, but the cam is the big one.

I once did 123mpg(IMP) 2.3l/100km 102.42mpg(US) on my old Kymco Pulsar LS 125cc

It was pretty easy to stay above 100mpg(imp)!

That's excellent.

Best I've done on my '06 SVn is 63 MPG, but normally I run in the mid 50s.

Worst it ever got was on the Interstate in windy conditions running about 80 MPH (we had a long ways to go). Mileage was in the mid 40s at that speed in those conditions. Naked SV just doesn't like to run that fast.

Amen! I’ve never understood the hate for digging up old threads. At worst it’s useless, yet people really seem to find the hate in it.

51.42 on my Harley XL1200N Nightster. It was actually kinda funny to go through the fuel log, 545lb wet and it averaged lower than my Echo or Civic! It was fun, though. I think I calculated that it had both a specific output and power/weight ratio similar to a C5 Corvette. I’ll probably never touch a motorcycle again, but I’m the better for having done it.

I haven't had a motorcycle for about twenty years , but I'm getting the urge to ride again. The only thing stopping me , believe it or not , is this : I like riding my bicycles. The same weather that you like for motorcycles is what we also like for bicycles. Will I ride my bicycles less if I have a motorcycle ? Probably.

Anyway , this is what I did in the old days. On my 79 GS1000 , riding on country roads at 55-60 MPH , I got 56 MPG. On my 93 VFR750R , I got 51 MPG at around 65 MPH. I no longer have the desire to go anywhere near as fast these days. A 250-300 cc bike is perfect for me. I'm leaning towards a Honda CB300F or CB300R ABS now. I'd also like to find some roads where I can ride 45 MPH without getting rear-ended by a speeding texting giant SUV. But in the 21st Century , those roads are hard to find. I'm going to take the time to read every post in this thread. Edwin
