looks a lot like the interior and fuel filler cap of my old 1989 xj6, so I'd say 1988 thru 1994 xj6? Hopefully 1991 or after, or you'll have to deal with all the HSMO nightmare.

Lol on the second rear view mirror though, mine only had the one

***edit***

I followed the link to your site and yup, it's an XJ6.
I had an 89 Vanden Plas and then a 90 Sovereign. I took the fuel system from my 89 and dropped it into the Sovereign, and then took the double round lights from the Vanden Plas and swapped them onto the Sovereign to replace those big square Volvo-looking lights.

I still miss my Jags like crazy other than:

#1 - My Vanden Plas ate HSMO like it was going out of style, and the whole car seemed to run on it. Since it leaked, the brakes, rear shocks and power steering were never quite functioning correctly, so I looked for a second Jag.
#2 - I found the Sovereign on CL, and it was beautiful inside and out. The owners couldn't get it started, so I got it for a grand. Swapped the fuel system and the lights off the Vanden Plas and it fired up. Found out at that point it was stuck in "limp home mode", so I drove it for 27,000 miles in third gear! Pulling away from a light, it was slower than my Insight. At highway speed, that straight six was doing like 3500 rpms, but I never did kill it.

I did love those quirky Jags, though. The Brits knew how to finish off a car to make it luxurious, but they sure didn't know how to make the electronics work!

Jag-gu-lar? J Lucas basically ruined that car for the US market with his invention of the short circuit, intermittent wipers, self dimming lamps, just to name a few. Better get a bottle of wire harness replacement smoke.

Lucas smoke adds an air of authenticity to the car

better than French electrics anyways..

Cowmeat- sounds like you had a real liking for these- they are great cars- much more Exclusive and special than the offerings from BMW/Merc et al of the same era

Yeah, it was more like a love/hate relationship. Like one of my exes, she was smoking hot so I put up with her craziness for a while!

Loved the leather & wood-finished interior, hated that the windows only rolled down randomly, and the doors only opened from the inside.
Loved the solid smooth ride, hated that the rear always sagged like a Kentucky moonshiner from lack of HSMO fluid in the self-leveling unit
Loved the long, low lines, hated that the dash scrolled every problem with the car while I was driving.
Loved the stainless steel trim instead of cheap chrome, hated the insane hammering noise from riding with the windows up but the sunroof open
Loved the entire look of the car, hated the OEM rims and loud Michelin tires.
Loved the single wiper. Hated that it worked randomly so I had to Rain-X all the time
Loved the smooth power of the 4.0 straight 6 and the J shifter, hated that it was stuck in third gear it's whole life and the shifter was useless. . . . . You get the picture.

Would I buy another one? Absolutely!

I've always been simultaneously attracted to and frightened by those cars.

Haven't had the sack to buy one yet, though, despite their ridiculously cheap prices.

Nice score!

Most of the parts are shared with other cars and it looks like thenparts availability (both dealer and aftermarket) are bloody good.

Got to be worth a punt
