One result of all the aeromods on my car is that headwinds and tailwinds have little effect on my mileage and coasting performance at normal highway speeds. I'd have to be cruising above 90mph to get into the portion of my car's velocity/aero drag curve where the airspeed changes resulting from head and tailwinds would become noticeable.

Bassjoos, do you notice any difference in crosswinds, considering the additional side profile area?

Its slightly more sensitive to crosswinds, but still much better than a van or SUV.

71 mpg (US) / 3.3 L/100 km at an average speed of 50 mph / 80 km/h over about 400 miles / 644 km today. That's driving with load and engine off coasting down the steep enough hills.

Like the man says, gotta love a good tail wind!

Where there was no "natural wind", the stars and planets aligned to give me the perfect density/speed of traffic to benefit from the corridor effect. Happy happy.

Nice.
400 miles? That's a days drive! Does that mean you're home for the summer?

I seldom get a tailwind.
I live near the beach and the wind comes from inland when I head to work.
Then it comes from the ocean when I head home.

I'm still working on my aeromods,
so methinks,
I need to head for your farm so you can help me be less affected by the headwinds I encounter on my commute to and from work.
You are a great inspiration to the rest of us Sir,
Thank You,
Schultz

Truth be told I wish I had the time to work on my car.
I have to go now and work on Brakes for
"The Friends of the Elderly"
A charity I donate time to.
Maybe tomorrow I work on my own stuff.

TC: yes, back to the 1000 Islands for the sunny season. Those 400 miles were just the amount of driving with favourable wind conditions - the total trip, over 2 unhurried days taking the scenic route where possible, was about 1550 km or 963 miles.
