Afaik Hondas are weird with respect to transmissions. That's all I know other than I am too big to work on them or even own one.
NO, shops only call if they think you are worth $$$$$$$.
SO, looking like next weekend(or equivalent) before you have parts and time.
Thanks for the update.

How much of a difference in compression will your newly machined head make? Any significant difference?

Unfortunately, I do not know where I am losing compression, so I do not expect that to improve. It sure would be nice!

He is talking about calculating the new compression ratio based on how much thickness was machined off the head. The engine will have a lower cubic volume but a higher compression ratio.
How much did the shop take off?

if it was done correctly then only the high spots are cut leaving just faint witness marks
otherwise it's whatever up to and including a ruined part

Probably not more than .032", more likely .010" not much compression bump.

I had planned on going out of town this weekend. Normally I want to leave on Friday because my clients cancel at least 90% of the time, but I saw them this week.
I had planned on driving to the valley on Saturday, but Mom decided to go down because my sister was having a big family dinner. As I pulled out of the driveway, my brother said he wanted to check the mail. He handed Mom some envelopes, and then grabbed a box that said Honda.
So, my parts arrived two days early, but I will not be back until Monday. I wanted to open the box and make sure that I had everything, but that seems like a good way to lose parts.
