You're an ecomodding hero. What year was that? No mention of Darko because it was a different vehicle?
Et tu, Gumby.

Same same.
I tested more than 1 configuration before settling on 5" center and 7" on the corners of the air dam. Posted hear.

V1 prototype was just the 2.5" Bronco air dam bolted to the bottom of the bumper I did not notice a positive or negative change on the gravity drop acceleration test

You had been active in the thread, thought you knew about the gravity drop results. Pine wood derby cars in Cub Scouts taught me these fundamentals. The heavier more streamlined a block of wood when's the race with one gravity horsepower.

Thank you for these videos!
Very informative.
What should we as ecomodders be aiming for? Suspension compressed or elongated? Or no change at all?

No lift or downforce will result in less induced drag. ie no suspension height change with speed.
However, it's a bit more subtle than that because if there is lift or downforce present, you need to get rid of it without then creating a lot of drag.
As Dick Barnard said to me when we were working on the book, you can destroy lift by placing a fence across the curved roof - but that won't be so good for drag!

Resolving the direction of forces caused by the surface body pressures you can measure - lift and downforce, thrust and drag.

I ran Bonneville and did the Chrysler Proving Grounds both in 1991.
It was with 'Spindletop',the streamlined 1984 HONDA CIVIC CRX HF.
It would be in my photo library at the Aero Forum.

My favorite dust picture:
It shows the three zones of turbulence around an open wheel. The top is defined by dirt carried over-top by the tire. The center vortex is mixed with turbulence off the axle, and the vortexes off the leading edge of the contact patch are still low to the ground by the time they reach the back tire.
