Shopping cart becomes aerodynamic body

You could build it like arrowheads Spirit of ecomodder model used bicycle wheels in the short-term put the birdcage over the top of it and as Julian said spandex with a paint to stiffen it or shrink wrap( the cheap3-7mil stuff down at the marina would be fine for this approach ). All you need is the wheelbase/width and the cage exterior dimensions. you could skip filling superstructure other than hardpoints for mounting The Birdcage. I would suggest a phone call to the manufacturer to get dedicated locations of the cage structure set your hard points don't have to move from prototype shape testing to practical application.
Clamps like this would work nice.

If you limit power to 20-40% is there difficulty working up through the intermediate gears?

gumby79 — Back when we were at Darko wind tunnel, I looked at a 1/3rd scale model, but the 26.5" tires become nine inches tall tricycle wheels. I keep bugging Arcimoto for a .obj file but they aren't releasing anything.

Interestingly enough, no. Power = torque x rpm, and since when going up through the gears you can use a lot more revs, it's quite easy to get up to speed, even with the relatively small throttle opening.

Insted of .33% go .447%=12.01", 2nd hand store kid bike to go scale, or go full scale with 26"ers if you wanted trunk space you could use 12" pop up tent trailer tires for the front. Then when you get the bike and relocate the monocoque simply turn it around and hitch it to the back of bike with locked out or compassion stearing as your Oregon <1500lb free utility/garden trailer.
I meant minimal running gear/structure for a tadpole a simple T frame with stub spindles bolted /clamped secured and a hollow interior.

Dont ask for all there desine secrets,just 3d locations of key bars in relationship to the axel pins So that you can locate youre bolt holes.

Actually,they were a 1/3rd-scale, 235/75 R-15 wheel,solid rubber unit,with solid,full-coverage, 'MOONs' inside and out,from Harbor Freight.They were the only thing I could purchase off -the-shelf which fit the scale.

I think it's actually power times the inverse of rpm and angular distance swept, or power divided by rpm:

Power = (torque)(angular velocity) = (torque)(2pi)(# revs / time)

Torque = (power) / [(2pi)(# revs / time)] = [(power)(time)] / [(2pi)(# revs)]

Which would mean that, limited to a specific power, less torque is developed as rpm increases.

I am sorry, I meant of course that power = torque x rpm. Original post corrected.
