Three steps:
- Open the garage door,
- Pull out the bicycle,
- Close the garage door.
OK, the few times I've had to start at or below -20°C, and couldn't plug in the coolant and oil pan heaters, it was more like:
- Wait a long time for the glow plugs to do their job,
- Hope that they left some juice in the battery for the starter,
- Turn the key,
- Wait for the idle to become less rough,
- Get the first signs of warm air after about 15-20km.
The -40 only showed up when the IR thermometer was pointed at something metal. The digital thermometer on our window showed the air temp was more like -27°C (-17°F).
