Thanks, you made me laugh
What was in parentheses didn't left my head.

& lol for saying they help you go faster. Like Tas said, she wasn't happy with either answer or she already knew and just wanted confirmation.
I think she only wanted a confirmation of the fact the skirts are there to lower the consumption. I talked about the speed to make her ask why and so to make her stay with me longer

I was just playing, my reply was all in fun I hope you know haha

It's cool though when people ask us what this or that is done to our cars. I am trying to make some rear wheel skirts right now so I look forward to peoples odd remarks soon!

I couldn't guess as you didn't put any smiley and I'm too tired to automagically put them where they are missing I'm also trying to educate some friends about smileys so I'm stricter about that matter by now

With the grill block I have strange looks from time to time, but this is rare. Even the white rear wheel skirts on a green car doesn't make them react. People doesn't see what they don't want to see.

If she doesn't see the value in ecomods, chances are she is pretty averse to conserving money. If she hadn't bailed on you, you could have gotten suckered into buying her all kinds of worthless crap.

My girlfriend thinks grill blocks are sexy, so I think I'm on the right track.

My wife understands the interest to ecodrive and ecomod, ecologically and economically. She keeps the grill blocks I put on the scenic, and she talks about them to colleagues from time to times; but she doesn't want rear wheel skirts so I keep the megane on which I installed them

The first adventures of the uglyback...

Only a week on the megane and the uglyback has already generated more reactions that all the rest of the mods (lower/upper grill block, rear wheel skirts, solar panel...).

As said in the linked message, some people are slowing down to look at the car while they are passing me. Today has been exceptional :
  • a prius III this morning (it was written on the side of the car). He slowed down before reaching me, then stay a little behind me during half a minute then accelerated and I lost him.
  • a lotus elise. He slowed down before reaching me, stayed a dozen second a little behind me then accelerated. As there was other cars, he didn't went far, I caught up with him and could admire the car. After a couple minutes he found a hole on the traffic and I lost him.

Yesterday noon, while I was going to the car some people were looking to it. I greeted them and said them that I could reply to some questions. One of them replied that he wanted to know what it is for and I simply replied "to drive 1600 km per tank" (1000 miles). I eared him whistling a long time and saw him deflating, deflating, deflating...

I can also confirm that these road signs do prevent people to try to push me because I'm not fast enough for them :

they are anticipating sooner the fact they will have to pass me.

Denis.

You should have responded: "I'm a hypermiler."
Then she'll ask what hypermiling is, so respond with: "That's a motor sport about saving fuel. I managed to increase my mileage by about 70%."
She'll probably ask how you did it, so start teaching her the basics of hypermiling.

Yeah this would probably be the best idea for the whole situation....
